"My Snowmobiling Impressions of District 1"

Early in the morning I love to get on the trail, which fortunately is at my back door. I especially love a clear, bright morning when the frost on the trees shines like diamonds. In the company of my snowmobiling buddies, I feel like a kid again, with no specific destination...just the snow on the ground and knowing that I am going to be on the trails for the whole day with no cares or worries about when we come home.

I enjoy the wide open fields and the abandoned rail lines, with their pristine trails as they continue into some majestic maple woods where I sometimes take a moment or two to stop and thank our great Creator for such beauty. Occasionally, we will come across turkeys roosting in the trees close to the trail and sometimes see the odd wolf scouting out his next meal. By late afternoon, it is common to see deer standing just off the trail in the shadows, allowing us to pass by.

District 1 trails have everything to offer an enthusiastic snowmobiler: great beauty of nature, wonderful friends that you meet at each Clubhouse, and a hearty meal at the end of the destination. I have been snowmobiling in the area of District 1 for over forty years - these are my impressions.
