It doesn't matter where you start. One possible starting point with snowmobiler friendly accommodations is the village of Calabogie, which offers many possibilities for accommodations along with service stations, grocery stores and restaurants. Choices are motels with efficiency units like Jocko's Beach Resort 1-613-752-2107, Calabogie Highlands Resort 1-877-224-4653 and a B & B The Fans of Calabogie 1-613-752-1595, all within a short distance to local restaurants. Hot wings and a friendly atmosphere await you at Shooters Bar and Grill located just off TOP E105A and highway #508. Day two will take you south on TOP E towards Sharbot Lake which offers fuel and where food can be found. You will continue your ride on this abandoned rail bed trail travelling east to Perth that has the amenities that you may need along with a Ski-Doo dealer for service. With a rail line trail from Calabogie to Perth, your pace has picked up, but take the time for scenic photo stops and breathe the fresh air that the County of Lanark and Renfrew has to offer. You are in the home of some of the greatest snowmobile trails in Ontario! Stay on TOP E and travel towards Smiths' Falls, another town with fuel, food and accommodations. From there continue on TOP E towards Napanee for accommodations at the Thriftlodge 613-354-3334 or the Masterson's Motel 613-354-9392. Next morning retrace your route back on TOP E towards Smiths' Falls for only 80km (50 miles) and then turn east onto TOP E105.Fuel and food is available in the town of Athens, just watch for signage as you approach the arena/community centre. Your travel east on TOP E105 will introduce you to many meandering forest trails and some great pipeline corridors as you sled to Morrisburg. Alexandria can be your first stop for trailside amenities of food, fuel and sled dealers for Polaris and Ski-Doo located all on TOP A trail. As you head northeast on Top A from Alexandria, you turn onto an abandoned rail bed trail which will lead you to the town of Plantagenet and an over night stay at the Motel de Champlain 613 673 5220 http://www.motelchamplain.com with a restaurant attached to the motel and fuel just next door, makes this a snowmobilers haven located just off TOP A.. This day ride will give you the chance to see many of Ontario's wildlife in the winter months, so please drive with care and have your camera ready. Your next day's travel will send you west on TOP A to the town of Metcalfe for fuel or service at the Arctic Cat dealer, all located on the trail with signage in place to find your needs. 20 minutes west, The Red Dot Café in Osgoode is a trailside stop for a great meal. Stop if you need to. Continue west on TOP A towards the village of Carleton Place for another fuel and food location before heading to the town of Arnprior. If a double double is not on your list then continue on TOP A104 to the intersection of A104 and A212 and now turn right. This wide, safe groomed trail of TOP A 212 takes you to TOP A and the town of Metcalfe. There you will turn right/east onto TOP A to head towards Metcalfe for fuel, food or service at an Arctic Cat dealer all located on TOP A trail with signage in place to find your needs. Make sure to bring your sun glasses as you ride east into a sunny day of full enjoyment. This second day will take you through woodlots and open fields as you travel west on TOP A 104, which is a right/west turn from TOP A just south of Alexandria. TOP A104 connects back to TOP E105 and then a short jaunt back to your starting point of Morrisburg. As you head north from TOP E105 and onto TOP E113 from Prescott you will turn onto an abandoned rail bed, which will lead you north and turn onto TOP A104 as you sled towards the town of Kemptville. Kemptville is located 2 km off TOP A104 and has services for food and fuel accessed by using the club trail located at County Road # 43 and TOP A104. Continue north on A104 and cross the staked ice crossing trail across the Rideau River and follow the groomed forest access roads of the Marlborough forest. A104 connects with TOP trail A in the center of Marlborough forest and here you will turn east onto TOP A. Take a moment for some photos and enjoy the quietness of the forest. Traveling east on TOP A will bring you across another ice crossing trail and into the communities of Osgoode and Metcalfe. Great food awaits you at the famous Red Dot Café, (Osgoode), where you can sled right up to the door. Your next day's travel will send you back west on TOP A and then turn south onto TOP A213. Your travel will take you through the beautiful and well-known Larose Forest on wide, safe, groomed trails as you head south towards the town of Moose Creek. A Yamaha dealer and fuel are available in Moose Creek if needed. On your travels south don't forget to stop at the famous covered bridge for photos, located just north of the town of Monkland where fuel and food is literally located almost on the trail. Continue heading south of Monkland and then turn west onto TOP A104. This Top trail follows unopened road allowances and through farmland; smooth trails connect back to TOP E105 and then a short jaunt back to your starting point of Morrisburg. Continue on TOP E and follow the groomed open fields and access roads to Smiths Falls. At all time on your morning ride take a moment for some photos and enjoy the quietness of this region. Smiths Falls also offer fuel and food if need be and you will now turn North on E103 towards Carleton Place. Travel on E103 and then west onto E104A and then TOP A towards Carleton Place. Your overnight stop is only 50 km (35 miles) away at Seven West Motel, 613-257-5666. The restaurant is attached to the motel, so you can now really relax after your first day ride. This first day ride will give you the chance to see many of Ontario's wildlife in the winter months as you sled on the well-groomed, signed trails provided by the volunteers of the many clubs that make up District One Snowmobile Association. Your next day's travel will send you on TOP A and straight North towards Arnprior. Your travel will take you through beautiful wide, safe, groomed trails as you head north towards the town of Arnprior. A Yamaha dealer is trail side along with fuel and food if needed. Continue heading west on TOP A and then turn south onto TOP E105A.
